About the Hanover Wind Symphony
Our 32nd Season Bringing Music to People and People to Music!
One of only a handful of outstanding community-based adult wind bands in New Jersey, the renowned Hanover Wind Symphony (HWS) delights audiences of all ages by giving a contemporary twist to traditional favorites. The symphonic band, made up exclusively of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments, embraces as its mission bringing “Music to People and People to Music.”
An all-volunteer, nonprofit organization, the Hanover Wind Symphony presents an array of engaging concerts throughout the year, many of them free of charge.
The Hanover Wind Symphony has played to enthusiastic audiences in and around greater Morris County for over a quarter-century. At the group’s premiere performance in 1985, there were 30 musicians. Now in its 29th season, the Hanover Wind Symphony has more than doubled in size.
Roughly half the HWS members have been in the symphony for 15 years or more, with five of the founding members still active.
HWS members are your neighbors–volunteers whose passion for music enriches the cultural fabric of the community with the thrill of live wind band performances.
As a non-profit organization, our mission is to bring “music to people and people to music” with the magic of live performances.
The Hanover Wind Symphony is a 501(c )(3) non-profit volunteer organization. Contributions are tax-deductible.
